I started this blog with such good intentions, to document the work I am performing on my old computers and share the journey as I take it. I stopped, but given that I am writing this in 2021, it may not come as a surprise to anyone why things may come to a halt.
As you can imagine, a lot has been happening, but not necessarily the sort of things I would blog about. That being said, let us review what has been going on.
- The Olivetti project has come to a standstill for now – I just haven’t had the time or space to look at it.
- There is an on-going project concerning an old Dell Workstation – it has been hell to work on, but there will be some posts on the machine soon.
- Mac Pros – 2 of them. Actually a lot has been done with these machines which were acquired last December. Expect a lot of retroactive posts on those.
- The lab\office project. This is ongoing, but nearing completion. A new Lack rack has been built for servers, a new Microtik switch has been installed, 10Gb networking is in place on core servers and most importantly, work is currently underway to segment the legacy computers in an isolated bubble on the network, with restricted internet access and improved security.
Naturally, there is more to come – a lot more. For now this, take this as the resumption of the blog. The next post is likely to be some weeks away with more regular updates to follow.
